If you want to experience the holidays southern California style, San Clemente has lots of options for kids and grown-ups alike. Just get out there and have a jolly ol’ time, bells on your toes optional.

Casa Nutcracker   Dec. 7 & 8

This ballet bestseller is performed by the Orange County Ballet Theatre. The Nutcracker has been specially choreographed for the intimate setting of Main Salon at Casa Romantica Cultural Center.

Mermade Market   Dec. 7,8 & 9

This is a free handmade even with crafts by more than 60 local makers. Food trucks are on hand daily.

43rd Annual Boat Parade of Lights     Dec. 8, 9, 15 & 16

Head to Dana Point Harbor and be dazzled by decorated boats light up the festivities. Seasonal activities are offered, too.

Holiday Music Festival       Dec. 8

Enjoy live music by local artists, Christmas treats and raffles. Admission is a children’s toy, which ill be donated to Family Assistance Ministries.

Tidings of Joy      Dec. 9

The San Clemente Choral Society presents Tidings of Joy, an afternoon performance at San Clemente Presbyterian Church.

Pre-Chanuka on the Pier   Dec. 10

Light up the San Clemente Pier. Sponsored by Chabad San Clemente Jewish Center, the free family event includes music, Jewish-themed temporary tattoos, balloons, activities and refreshments.

Cookies & Milk with Santa    Dec. 8, 15 & 22

This event at Irvine Spectrum Center features complementary cookies and milk, thanks to Corner Bakery.

Gingerbread Academy    Dec. 10, 16, 23 & 24

Learn how to decorate gingerbread houses from the Monarch Beach Resort Pastry Team in Dana Point. Santa always stops by, and families are welcome to take photos with him.

Ice Skating Under the Stars   Through Jan. 7

The outdoor ice rink at Irvine Spectrum Center is open for skating, and ever Thursday has a theme. DJ music, prices and entertainment provided.
