Life in San Clemente

September 30, 2016

Living in San Clemente has plenty of perks. You’re in a beachside community with a storied history. Surfers have flocked to the area for years. In fact, in addition to surfing the local breaks, many stayed to make San Clemente the surfing media capital of the world. Former President Richard Nixon lived in a house he dubbed “La Casa Pacifica” although the press referred to it as the “Western White House.” And the town’s oldest architecture dates back more than a century.

But San Clemente doesn’t live in the past. In fact, the “Spanish Village by the Sea” is a vibrant community that offers a rich social scene, plenty of dining opportunities and great shopping. Here are just some of the things you can enjoy in August.

San Clemente Fiesta Music Festival

Now in its 63rd year, the Fiesta Music Festival brings together plenty of music lovers who enjoy the sounds of a wide range of music. There’s also a salsa challenge, plenty of games and contests to compete in, an art and crafts exhibit and more.

Still looking for more? There’s a motorcycle show, children’s activities, a business expo and much, much more.

Learn the Importance of Meditation

De-stress and free your mind from worry during the Natural Meditation Workshop in San Clemente on August 21. Natural Meditation author Dean Sluyter will lead the afternoon. A contributor to August’s Oprah Magazine, Sluyter will offer simple tips and techniques to begin meditating.

Barks and Brews

Celebrate National Dog Day at the Outlets at San Clemente, right across the street from Sea Summit. Arrive with your pooch and enjoy food from The Classic Tacos and DogTown Dogs. Left Coast Brewing Company will be on hands with tasty suds to quench your thirst.

Proceeds from the event go toward the Pet Project Foundation, which supports the local San Clemente/Dana Point Animal Shelter.
