Embrace the Southern California lifestyle and make the most of your ideal location this month. Explore annual pass options and visit the theme parks now in the off season, while attendance is lower and wait lines shorter.

One of the many benefits of Southern California living is the selection of theme parks, all virtually in your back yard. Locals can take advantage of some sweet deals, offers and year-round memberships to play all year.

Disneyland Resort

The granddaddy of Southern California theme parks, Disneyland opened in Anaheim in July 1955 and it’s been thrilling visitors of all ages ever since. You can choose from a menu of Annual Passport options (some available only to Southern California residents). Annual Passports have various blackout dates and additional benefits such as discounts at food and gift shops. For the super Disney fans, the Signature Plus offers admission 365 days of the year and it includes parking. Mickey Mouse ears sold separately. See the FAQs here.

For a day out with the kids or grandkids, Legoland in Carlsbad is hard to beat. Legoland California Resort encompasses Sea Life Aquarium, Legoland Water Park, and 60 rides shows and attractions. Annual Passes comes with a variety of exclusive discounts and special events. The first tier pass does not include access to the water park and aquarium. Consider which resort options you visit most and choose your pass accordingly.

San Diego Zoo

Set in beautiful Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo was born in 1916 with the arrival of its first few animals, including a Kodiak bear named Caesar. Today it protects and cares for over 3,700 rare and endangered animals of 650 species, and 700,000 exotic plants. Non-profit San Diego Zoo Global operates both the Zoo and San Diego Safari Park. The Koala Club membership for kids costs less than two visits to the Zoo. Explore these household membership tiers, including Annual Passes and Keepers’ Club, to learn about the special benefits and discounts. Zoo membership also gets you admission to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

San Diego Zoo Safari Park

The sister park to the San Diego Zoo, this 1,800-acre wildlife reserve in Escondido offers a safari adventure close to home. The Safari Park is home to more than 3,000 animals of over 300 species, and a renowned botanical collection. Choose your adventure from different safaris including Flightline, Caravan, Cheetah, Behind-the-scenes and Jungle Ropes. There are also safari packages that offer personal tour guides and Roar and Snore, an overnight camping adventure. Safari Park passes can be purchased for multiple days while membership comes with free unlimited admission to both the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

The park has something for everyone with rides, shows, exhibits, animal interactions and tours. The SeaWorld organization is dedicated to conservation of oceans and marine mammals, rescue and release of injured marine animals, and education. The park’s orcas are well cared for by specialists in marine mammal care. In response to community concerns, Sea World has discontinued their orca breeding program and modified their shows into educational exhibitions.  An Annual Pass gives you unlimited entrance and exclusive benefits.
